The Mulch Store a key community resource for landscaping products and other landscaping materials, many of which we create from our recycling and composting work. Emerald Ash Borer Information

The Mulch Store has four Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) certified sites to process Ash tree waste. All Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) quarantined materials (branches, limbs, stumps or yard waste mixed with brush) are required by the MDA to be taken to a certified facility.

Due to this year’s unusually mild winter and early spring the Minnesota Department of Agriculture has had to adjust the Emerald Ash Borer Flight Date (the time of year when emerald ash borer is most likely to spread) accordingly.

The new Flight Season start date of APRIL 18, 2012 is the final day that all regulated articles received from the quarantine must be completely processed in accordance with your compliance agreement.

MDA inspectors will be inspecting your facility to ensure these requirements have been met. No untreated regulated material from a quarantined county is allowed to be accepted at your facility between April 18 and September 30, 2012.
